In the lecture Social Inequality: the How, Why and What to Do on last Tuesday night, columnists Charles Blow and Ross Douthat showed us their inspiring thoughts. During the discussion, centering around social inequality, they talked about how gender, ethnicity, gender and other social features characterize people’s social status as well as influence other social-related things such as policies, crimes, employment, and so on. Specifically, one thing that Mr. Blow and Mr. Douthat talked about is welfare policy. Welfare policy, according to Mr. Blow, was the “giveaway to the lazy”.
