Social Inequalities In America

This paper reconnoitres and considers the ideology of social inequality. Not any type of social inequality but racial social inequality presented in the country of America. America is a well industrialized and developed nation which has increased the fear Islam and Muslims. This has developed racial attitudes towards Muslims. Thus, causing Muslims to not fit in with the rest of the majority. Overall, no one should have to be discriminated against even in a well modernized country. Islamophobia has altered the perceptions of individuals in America. Thus, the paper develops and offers the notion of racial social inequality regarding the aspect of Islamophobia in America.

Muslims face the unjust attitudes due to Islamophobia in America. Islamophobia is the concern of dread arousal regarding Islam or Muslims people (Bleich, 2011, p.1581). The issue of Islamophobia ascends and decreases but never put to rest. Garner and Selod argue that, “Islamophobia is a form of racism, and that racialization is a valid way to interrogate the experiences of a faith-based social group” (2015, p.11). The world has an interesting phenomenon that deals with how individual human beings or certain groups are treated separately from the surrounding society known as social inequality. This a major concern that underlines the perception of social inequality. The perception of social inequality is known to be that, “social inequality is the presence of unequal opportunities for certain social groups based on factors regarding sexual orientation, religion, and race, as well as many others” (Gouweloos, 2017). Social inequality develops distance between groups and individuals. The ones that may be socially equal may end up developing social inequality process like the rest
