In our communities, less skilled and low paying jobs are mostly done by blacks or people of color. Most individual that are unemployed are blacks. The several incidents that we hear on the news and so forth about assaults are usually black victims. In chapter 7 of Race in America, the author gives an example from a letter Coates wrote to his son explaining to him the “reality of violence against those culturally deemed black in America and the human pitfalls in having a black body”. This shows that black people usually face violence from whites. The author also gave an example of on incident which was Michael Browns death which the killers were set free with no indictment. Even in present day, there are several situations that black people are shot or killed by whites who see blacks to be criminals. In present days, there has been incidents where white police will fatally kill blacks and say they thought they were armed, and there will be no indictments on what they did. White policemen usually think all blacks are criminals so the intend to shoot them because they might have guns on them. It is true that some blacks have criminal records but not everyone is a criminal. Most black people have criminal records because they do not have jobs though they’re educated. I remember watching a video in my sociology class that showed black neighborhoods where there will be no white leaving there. In our communities, Black people are treated unfairly because they usually have to stay in certain neighborhoods where there are no whites. Whenever there is a situation and the cops come around they take bad actions because they think we are all
