Pastor Dylan here, and I just want to say thank you so much for being a part of The Social family. This past year we grew both spiritually, and numerically at a astonishing rate. With that being said, we believe that what we were a part of this past year was just the beginning! Recently Palm Beach County was voted as the most unchurched county in America, Say Whhhhhaaaat!! Now I know you might be thinking that's horrible, but WE believe that it's just a set up for what the Lord is about to initiate in our County.. For my Op-Ed piece I chose to read “We Need a Strategy for the Middle East,” by John McCain. The article was published on October 24th, 2017 and basically outlines the current situation in the Middle East and John McCain’s opinion on how we should proceed. For the majority of the article, McCain goes through and explains every conflict going on in the Middle East. To start he informs the reader of recent attacks on our Kurdish allies by Iranian backed Iraqi militia forces, some armed with US weapons and training. This problems specifically troubles McCain because he sees the Kurds as our most valuable ally in the Middle East.…

Some different rhetorical situations I find myself in daily are how I talk to my parents differently than the way how I talk to my friends. When I talk to my parents I am more respectful and polite. Theological Reflection on Call to Family, Community, and Participation It is sad that people suffer in the way that they do in Nigeria. I can’t imagine a world where it was unsafe to go to school each day and terrorists rule the country, unofficially. I would be terrified to think that kids my age or younger that went to school could be abducted or even killed by terrorist groups like Boko Haram. We are called by God to have a family, and community and also participate in those groups.…

The topic I chose for my rhetorical analysis is child abuse. I chose this topic because ever since I was in high school (junior year), I’ve wondered why children are sexually abused and if they know what it is and how to prevent it. When I was in my junior year of high school, I asked one of my teachers if they knew the answers to those questions and all she told me was “no, but that would be interesting to know.” The reason why I was curious to know about child abuse is because I heard my friend talking to her sister about how her mother’s friend didn’t believe her daughter that her father sexually abused her. Ever since my friend mentioned that, I have been curious to know if children know what it even is.…
