Social Experience Research Paper

My first experience in college wasn't negative or positive, it was more emotions wrapped up in my experience than expected. Its two days before the party and I feel excited as if it were a party in New York City and everything’s going well. Later that night an overwhelming feeling of anxiety and fear came over me. I laid in my bed deep in thought and I was thinking about my life, I started contemplating going to the party. I never felt nervous or anxious about going to a party, I didn’t know how to handle it. I kept telling myself “it’s just a party you’re going to have fun” to be truthful, it was more than a party, it was a college party; my first college party, my first social experience in college, that required me to engage in conversations …show more content…
I was worried about judgement and how people would depict me after they’ve experienced my presence at this party. The anxiety only increased but my mother didn't raise a punk so i set a goal and I followed through with it. The whole time that I was getting ready my friends were laughing and talking, although my body was there my mind and soul was elsewhere. As we approached the house my mind is scattered all I can think of was my clothing, was it cute enough, was it too revealing did it need to reveal more. We began to enter the house and the light were really dimmed, don't think the lights were on, the light that was in the house made your white clothing glow. I Everyone began to bombard everyone walking in with hugs and fives and it made me feel more welcomed. I began to walk around and check out the house. The house was really nice and I had an amazing time we danced, we sang and we laughed. Everyone was beyond nice and welcoming they made me feel as if I knew them for a lifetime. We took so many pictures I thought my phone was going to explode, by the time I had got home I was exhausted but me feeling that way taught me a valuable
