This has spurred international debate as to whether or not prostitution should be legalized. The legalization of prostitution would help prevent abuse because sex workers would not fear the incarceration that is associated with calling the police and STDs through legislation that forces condom use. Many opponents of legalization propose that there will be an increase in the objectification of women. Prostitution is often considered a victimless crime, but when considering whether or not it should be legalized we must examine the health concerns that would arise if it were legalized. Some of the issues involved include drug use, STDs, sexual and physical assault, and mental health disorders.The future of prostitution is uncertain, however, now is the time to decide what form it will take through innovation, legislation, and health
