he social-ecological perspective was introduced in 1979 by Urie Bronfenbrenner. The social - ecological perspective is used when working with children, young people and families. In his model the child is the centre of any situation and anything else is placed around it as some influential circles. The more impact and influence on the child the closes the layer to the centre. It looks at all aspects that have an impact at their lives, considers all issues within close family but also wider community. When assessing the situation, it trying to get to the bottom of the problem to solve it instead of only looking for the short-term solution. The social ecological perspective allows to look at every aspect of the situation in detail trying to understand why the family is experiencing the poverty, whether it is because of bad budget management, difficult access to public transport, which might lead to unemployment, or maybe even illness. It is very complex situation and there are many negative influences on the children. Children that are poor are often socially excluded because they are not able to participate in many activities such as school trips, parties. The social ecological perspective can be very useful in understanding the causes of poverty but even then, it still has the own limitations. With the right assessment, there might be solution provided to help and improve the situation by helping with finding the job, better money management, improving the skills but at the same time the attention might be drawn away from the individuals’ responsibility and other factors will be called responsible like economic
