Social Dilemmas In America

The society that we live in today is one where people would rather take someone else’s life than communicate about the problem like an adult. In the U.S, we have the highest rate of gun murders compared to the other countries. This has become a social dilemma among the United States. A social dilemma is the option for a society’s long-term success due to one individuals own interests. (Newman 2016:) Now he or she may think that killing another person is the best way to go about things, but what they don’t realize is its sets us back as a society. (Newman 2016:249) Not everyone is taught to settle your anger by talking it out some agree that violence solves problems. Many lessons that people learn about how to handle stations or even what they think about people begin at home. People that are racist or homophobic or even psychopaths learn their behaviors from the environment that they are raised in. People learn behaviors from the people that they are around a lot. Some teach their children to love everyone despite race, sexual preference, and or sexual identification but, since what makes America land of the free is that they get their freedoms they can think, feel, and say whatever they would like. Each family teaches their family whatever they believe is right. Some families believe everyone should love everyone and some believe that others don’t deserve what they have due to color or sexual orientation. occasionally it causes problems like the one that happened on Louisiana college campus, but this is not the only example. There have been many examples of cops abusing the power given to them.
