As the years go by they get a lot more modern then, they were previously. With this idea is the fact that many people are becoming different from one another and want to pursue different things. Even though we, as a set of people, might come together for some things, for many other things we are separated in what we do. In this essay structural and social differentiation will be discussed, as will the result of the increasing division of labor, and some problems of modernity in today's society. “As we internalize the culture of our groups, we learn how to think and feel and behave, and our groups become socially distinct from one another. Social differentiation and structural differentiation are the result of the increasing division of labor, because you have a lot of people that have split off from different groups, and so when they were all doing one thing, they have now split up and are making more than one thing. Within the division of labor and the differentiations, there are the higher up people that will tell all the lower people what they need to do and how they need to do it. With the different sets of groups being formed, however, they are less likely to understand what the whole society needs. So they will make items that they believe that their group needs and these items might not be what the rest of society needs, but they will use. Some problems with modernity, today, is that there are the big corporations out there that believe they know what society needs. However, they are not attuned to the collective consciousness and so they will just make any item that they want. Another problem is with some smaller companies, they have these groups within the company that think they know what the rest of the company needs, but they really do not. They might even give tasks to one part of the company that will then have no idea what to do, while another part of the company will know exactly what they need to do in that
