Or what social environment are available to make healthy choices to eat, how many fast food restaurants are around. While researching what public health programs have failed to incorporate social determinants the most popular interventions often had to do with childhood obesity. It was shown that most childhood obesity prevention strategies did not thrive because researchers and public health officials did not know where to begin (Heitmann, Koplan, & Lissner, 2009). According to the World Health Organization [WHO] (2012), there are so many determinants to look at when dealing with childhood obesity, that most programs and interventions have to prioritize on one, thus leaving out other very important factors.
