Utilitarianism (Result Theory) is a trial theory based on the act that was committed, for example rewarding or punishing based upon the results of the act. This theory determines whether or not the act brings about the greatest good consequences or the greatest punishment based on the results of one’s action (Thiroux, 2012). Restitution (Compensation Theory) is the act of somehow compensating a victim for harm or wrong done to him or her (Thiroux, 2012), For example if a government official (A Police Officer) takes the life of an innocent person without reasoning then the family of the victim should be compensated, such compensation usually is required to be made to the victim by the perpetrator of the harm or wrong (Thiroux, …show more content…
Some culture may view certain things as the norm and some culture may view the same as morally unjust. For example some cultures believe that it is acceptable to have more than one wife and some cultures believe that it is a sin. The perfect society would look like a fairytale movie, and everyone would live in peace and harmony, people would take joy in helping others and not want to see anyone suffer or in need of anything.
In the Information Technology field the most pressing issues is privacy, privacy is a pressing issue because of user data. User data is the biggest concern because if your personal data is compromised it can be devastating, for example if your social security number, credit card number are taken due to hacking it can cause major problems and affect your life in a major way. Corporate social responsible is basically self-regulation; regulations put in place by law that mandates ethical standards and allow employees to work in a safe and stable environment. Utilitarian’s may handle CSR as the same, CSR and Utilitarianism serve the same ethical standard that holds the best moral
