This stanza is talking about how the raven represents death, a creature of the underworld and God sent the raven to the narrator to give a message. “‘The hunger of this poem is legendary it has taken many victims.’” Reed is different from Poe’s writing style because Reed’s is more modern like then Poe’s and its straightforward about what’s happening. “’ Humans are obsessed with death; we simply have a hard time wrapping our mind around what happens when we die.’” The monsters and stories we make up are always connected to death or afterlife.
