Colonialism is the conquest and settlement of territory by people from another territory, and the colonizer established direct political and economic control over the native inhabitants and their land. "When one group is strong enough to push another around and stands to gain by it, it will do so" (Stokes 2001:3). Europeans was effective in colonization because of its cultural values that promoted economic growth. Weber’s Protestant Ethic brought religious value of engaging in trades and making more money to become a better business person. Colonialism forced inhabitants into labor, thus social inequality originated by cultural superiority and race became a product of colonialism.
