Social comparison is the basis of human civilization. Many inventions was founded simply because people compared themselves to others. Then the people decided that they wanted to be better. It is very healthy to use comparisons as a method to motivate a person to achieve a positive attribute. However, when a person constantly compares themselves to others without knowing their worth , it becomes a problem. The reason why is because the person who Is insecure looks for their worth through social comparison. For example, as a teenager growing up I had very low self esteem and so I use to compare myself with other who I thought was perfect because if we were similar that meant maybe I wasn’t their lessor. It is very important to learn the skills to communicate proactively with others because it's different in offending and uplifting . If a person’s communication skills is off then the person cannot properly display what she is trying to convey. In my nursing courses there is a section designed for communication because as a nurse you must know the most helpful communication skills to help a patients cope with their illness. If a nurse does not have that then she can come off offensive or worse uncaring . It can completely destroy the nurse -patients relationship which is essential for an healthy healing …show more content…
I remember always bargaining with my sister to get her to do my chores. I would tell her that I would not tell on the numerous bad action she had previously done. I used her disadvantageous to my advantage in order to benefit my wants ;This is essential what bargaining is. It is using something that someone wants or someone's disadvantage state to profit off of it. Bargaining can also be used as a tool to overcompensate for these people feel inadequate about such as money. I use to watch these movies on tv and I never understood why people bet so much money knowing that they did not have it . Then the person loses everything by simply trying to overcompensate from being poor or some unwanted attribute. Bargaining in the right hand can create a positive environment but in the wrong can create un wanted negative
