The Outsiders…… What are the Outsiders? The Outsiders is a book about a gang called the greasers. They live in a city called Tulsa in 1900s in Oklahoma. Ponyboy Curtis, a 14 year old greaser, tells the story. This story deals with two forms of social classes: the socs, the rich kids, and the greasers, the poor kids. In the novel, The Outsiders, much of the turmoil and conflict in the community is caused by the Socials.
