In this day and age most kids have some sort of social media. This could include Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, or any of the new apps coming out every day. At first glance these forms of entertainment seem harmless, a simple way to stay communicated with the world around us, but when you take a look at the psychological effects social media has had on this generation, the results will make you think again about post that picture of your lunch. The anonymity of the harsh comments has be proven to take a serious toll on the kids. There are many outcomes that come as a result of cyberbullying. People can become depressed, angry, and frustrated. Many bullied kids have reported losing interest in school, activities, friends, and some even have suicidal thoughts. Compared to the early 2000s the rate of physical bullying has dropped, because now it is easier to hide behind a computer screen and take a hit on a person without them know who you are. It is very easy to lose track of time and get carried away. Using your phone late at night can really mess with your sleep schedule. Not only is the blue light your phone generates dangerous for your vision, have a terrible, sleep schedule can really take a toll. A sleep deprived person can lose focus while driving or become irritable. On social media we also see many unrealistic pictures of what we are supposed to look like, many of these become inspiration.
