As the industrial revolution sets in the amount of slaves needed grows less. Between 1800 and 1860 the amount of labour in agriculture has dropped 30 percent and as agriculture thins out slaves harsh labor will be replaced by running arens. Many slaves could work enough to earn their freedom but, in 1804 the north will abolish slavery and acquire tons of immigrants. The profit with slaves in the north was nothing compared to the south and was not worth the price. Free blacks would then be open to work in factories and form communities. All though slavery was abolished there was a very obvious line that separated blacks from whites. Many would never have imagined blacks living anywhere close to white people. The north finally saw their flaw in the Declaration of Independence, “All men are created equally”. The heavily procrastinated subject was finally being dealt with and would mark the start of the civil
