When measures are taken by the society to identify the criminal gangs and their members and evidence brought before a criminal justice system that leads to prosecution and subsequent jailing of such people, people will be discouraged from joining such gangs so as not to be separated from their society. The introduction of stronger gun control has also proven to be an effective social intervention to firearm violence and murder because it reduced the number of people in possession of illegal firearms and thus lessen the probability of people falling victims of death by such banned
