When children reply to what they want when they are older most will say to get married and have a family. They say this not knowing that in America the divorce rate is up to 50%. People fantasize about the day they will marry their soul mate and ride off into the sunset happily ever after. This is not the case for half the marriages today because divorce has become more acceptable. There are many causes for divorce; many of them have been causes for divorce for decades. A new cause for divorce is the lack of privacy because of social media. Now that people have access to social media nothing that happens to people is ever really private. Nowadays people are busy posting everything good or bad that happens to them on the internet for all people to see. To most people the worst thing a spouse can do is to cheat. When a spouse cheats it is like a stab to the heart; cheating is the ultimate betrayal that shows a spouse how much the offender really does not care about them. If cheating does happen trust will be lost in the relationship, and it may cause irreconcilable problems which eventually lead to a couple divorcing. Not only can adultery cause divorce, but so can a lack of sex in the relationship. This can because a thing which leads to a spouse cheating. Once a husband and wife get to a point in their marriage where sex is not a common thing spouses will search for that connection somewhere else. Sex allows for spouses to have a romantic and physical connection to one another, the very thing that makes people husband and wife, and once that spark is lost they may call out of love; this would be an event where divorce will allow for the two to move on and find that person with which they have a spark
