The NGO’s and the international community of nations needs to start stepping up and taking action instead of standing by and waiting for something to happen. Just like bullying if someone sees it happening and doesn’t say anything it will get worse, but if they acknowledge it quick enough something can be done about it. UNiTE (UN organization) brings together a host of UN agencies and offices to urge action across the UN system to prevent and punish violence against women. Through the campaign, the UN is joining forces with individuals, civil society and governments to put an end to violence against women and others in all its forms. The UN Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM), is another UN organization against violence in any and all forms, working with local partners, has supported the upbringing of laws against domestic, sexual violence, and rape. The UN has 5 goals, Adopt and enforce national laws to address and punish all forms of violence against women and girls, Adopt and implement multi-sectoral national action plans, Strengthen data collection on the prevalence of violence against women and girls, Increase public awareness and social mobilization, Address sexual violence in conflict.
