Power, Speed and Agility A good soccer player needs to be able to sprint, jump and maneuver the ball quickly up and down the soccer field using explosive power. The player has to practice explosive drills to be able to effectively develop power and speed. To build power the player can do jumps side to side, jump over cones, squats, and leg training. Increasing your strength and flexibility in your core will add more power and speed to your game. Players need to be able to maneuver the ball quickly while having good control and form.
