Growing up I loved playing soccer, but there was one part of soccer that I could never learn how to play. It was so frustrating to me because this is the position I wanted to play. For me defense was the best part of playing soccer. I practice every day by myself, with my teammate, with my coach just to get better at It, I would practice 5 times a day to become better. One day I woke up on a saturday morning for practice ,and defend was the position i wanted to play. I ask my coach to help to play defend and then he put me in defend and that day I gave it 100% that day i played like never before.what i learned as a result was to never gave up keep on trying no matter

“Hi Malcolm, I’m Coach Spear, and I’d like you to consider playing soccer at Davidson.” I had played the “beautiful” game of soccer for as long as I could remember, starting in an organized league at the age of three to be exact. An invitation to play as a team member in a highly regarded college soccer program was the culmination of hundreds of league games, dozens of travel tournaments, and too many practices to count. The idea of attending such a prestigious college and having the opportunity to continue to play soccer is a personal accomplishment was very exciting to me. Soccer may have opened a door, but I believe that several interests in addition to soccer, combined with the educational opportunities that Davidson has to offer, will help me open many doors throughout life, shaping a personal identity that will be unique among many.…

Last year during fantasy football I had a great team my players rarely got hurt and none of them got suspended. On the other hand almost all of my opponents had to deal with that. The roar of the engine sends my heart racing as I pull out on to the track, one lap around and we are off, trucks at my side as we glide around the turns. The slick dirt pulling my back end around I move my hands, my automatic controls, the only thing keeping me from spinning out. It’s funny really because clichés aren’t my thing, however, at times idioms are just the thing to describe a situation or time period in one’s life, for instance the saying that “life is a roller coaster” couldn’t be more fitting for my life. The ups and downs, the highs and the lows, the twists and turns, life is just one big adrenaline rush and at times I feel I’m a junking, addicted to life.…
