Soccer is by far the most integrates sport in the world. Its’ fans and players include all ethnicities, cultures and races. When you look at the other United States’ sports (think baseball) integration rates, all you see is exclusion until about 1964,(soccerfact.com) for instance when they let one of the biggest races in the world finally play, the Chinese. The soccer population doesn’t stop at the youth soccer level. It is one of the biggest organizations in North America and is climbing higher every season. Most of the referees, coaches and players grew up playing the game of soccer, and if still able, would still be playing the game today. The soccer population is the highest it has been in its history. Events like the United States Women’s National Team’s win of the 2015 World Cup will result in thousands more United States soccer players starting to play youth soccer. This proves that soccer has one of the largest populations in the world. Another reason for soccer being so well known is because it appears everywhere. One example is Lionel Messi winning the Espy.
