In the article So Long Social Media the author talks about how the way the younger generation has shifted the way that they use social media. While a few years back a network site like Facebook was the dominant force in social media, the current time shows that instagram and snapchat have come to the fore front of social media when it comes to young people. While a site like facebook is still being used very frequently their age group has evolved to be one that is much older than it used to be. One of the reasons is that their family is more active on it and they do not have the privacy that they used to. I can totally agree with this statement from my own personal experience. She thinks that all of the privacy in social media is causing this problem, but I would have to disagree that there is a problem here at all. Just because less young people are using facebook all of the time doesn’t mean that they have stopped using it completely. I think that social media can benefit people by have both a private and public side of it. One site like facebook for example can but used to show the professional side of someone while something like snapchat can be used for personal pleasure. To think that young people are not sharing their ideas on social media platforms is insane. Social media is one the primary ways people of the younger demographic get their ideas out to the public. Take twitter for instance the main idea of that site is to establish are brand for oneself and to try to promote that brand by putting your ideas out into the public
