A frigid gust of air ripped through the land, causing little ice crystals to flicker under a ray of escaping sunlight. A snowstorm is coming, and the cold is as palpable as the snow beneath my feet. Up ahead, there was nothing to see. The fog and the bitter air had limited my line of sight to zero, it was like trying to see through water: Ripples and reflection. All I can hear is the sound of my heart beating inside my numb chest and the echo of my breathing: restrained and harsh. I can feel the pressure dropping as the snowstorm came upon me, slow yet determined; dangerous yet subtle, and it was right on up of me.
