At Red Scaffold my cousins Gabriel, Josh, Tristan and I ride bikes. Gabriel and I wrap ropes on our back tires to create traction like chains on the rear tires. Consequently, I think the ropes work well on ice and snow, you don’t slide around on the slippery ice and can move well in the snow. My cousin Gabriel and I go through mountainous snow drifts and the ropes help enormously, so we don’t spin out. Last year we wrecked a lot while riding our bikes because the ice was like glass, causing us to slip often.…

Growth was slow, towns were very spread apart, and illness during these periods spelled death with the inability to travel. What if one machine could change all of those things and more? Being a licensed snowboard instructor can have its perks; for instance, you get insane deals on all of the gear you could ever possibly need and get free lift tickets, but the most rewarding part of instructing for me is seeing how excited my students get when they finally nail the skill they’d been working so hard to master, whether it be making it down the hill without falling for the first time or landing their first air 360. Admittedly, it took me a little while to appreciate my students’ strange ways of expressing enthusiasm for learning, and for the…
