Fairy tales have been a form of entertainment for centuries whether it is told orally or if it is, read to a child or if it is visually depicted in a movie. I would be lying if I said I never loved Disney’s version of Snow White. In the version that most people are familiar with ,which is the Disney version Snow White and the seven Dwarfs ,Snow White is the fairest of them all and the Evil Queen does not like that one bit. The main idea of the whole story revolves around the idea of beauty and jealously. The Grimm Brothers version of Snow White is quite similar to Disney’s version however, it does throw us a few curve balls. In this particular version Snow white has many opportunities to be smart, but she does not choose to do the right thing.

As a little girl I had it in my head that I would find my prince charming and live a happily ever after. Fast forward 15 years later I’m still waiting. Before reading the different tales of Snow White my preconceived ideas about it were that I would be some lost girl waiting to be found (figuratively) and some guy would come save me from whatever the problem was. Also I guess I never picked up on the whole idea in the film that it was based off of jealously of beauty. I idolized Snow White when I was younger. I always thought of her as a good influence, but looking back on that my perspective of her changed. The Brothers Grimm story of Snow White is very similar to the one that we all know and love. In this particular tale type Snow White misses all the warning signs of bad things coming her way. Snow White is quite young about thirteen years old in this tale type. She is young and innocent which essentially means her brain is not fully developed to make reasonable decisions. Once the Mirror tells the Evil Queen that Snow is even more beautiful than her that’s where she becomes stone cold and betrays Snow White. She could not bear the idea of someone being more beautiful than her. She finds what she think will be the solution. She has the
