I'd like to take a moment to thank our wonderful school district for keeping it's loyal and hardworking students in mind when deciding to not cancel school due to snow days. We students, especially those who live hours out of town, love driving in treacherous, dangerous, terrifying weather conditions where they can enjoy a full day of education. Because, really, what is more important than a child's education? Certainly not their health. A student's health should be the least of their concerns! And for those children who have to walk to school - they adore walking through miles of snow, ice, and harsh wind. It is truly the highlight of their day!
When the children of our fair school district arrive at our school, we are beyond ourselves with delight to be at school! The weather is not a distraction, but an aid in our focus on learning. We could not care less about our families or pets who may have to endure the harsh weather outside - we are much too focused on our educations!! Imagine if our district did decide to have a snow day! We would despise being stuck at home instead of with our teachers as they teach us valuable things that we will use every day of our lives! Students would not benefit at all from a spontaneous break from school. We would return to school the next day, glum as ever, and grumble (as opposed to learning) about being forced to have the day off because of deathly weather conditions. …show more content…
It would be a hindrance to cancel or delay school because of the weather! It's just weather, right? Who doesn't love losing toes or fingers while walking to school in weather 40 degrees below zero? I most certainly look forward to that joy. Let's all support our school district in their care-taking of us, and go to school even when there are snow
