Since youth I have been in the Hershey area many times, playing in the Ice Rinks around the immediate vicinity of the park, yet actually going to the park as alluded me. The first ride was Skyrush. I can’t count the number of times that I have heard the old adage, if you swallow your gum, it will take seven years to digest. For all of you who have accidentally or purposely swallowed a piece of chewing gum, know that you are not still lugging that piece of gum around with you. Pediatric gastroenterologist, Dr. David Milov of the Nemours Children’s Clinic in Orlando, Florida, stated with “complete certainty”, that “the rumor is medically unfounded” (Matson, 2007). If there were any truth to this saying, then there would be evidence of gum in the digestive tract, but “colonoscopies and capsule endoscopy procedures turn up no such evidence”. Dr. Milov further goes on to state that although the chewing gum moves through the digestive tract…

The age of Feuilletons is not ongoing today. Books that teach about culture have been written since 1950 have brought forth much about the society in which we live in and how it changes. Novels for all age groups such as If you Give a Mouse a Cookie, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Things They Carried, Invisible Man, and Buddha in the Attic justify that we do not live in an age of Feuilletons. Many novels since then have discussed the flaws of society, history, and moral conflicts that are still prevalent today and will be everlasting to the year 2075.…
