SNC’s decision to maintain a position at the start of the obstacle with his security and maintaining oversite by viewing the forward element through the tunnel limited his ability to make informed decisions. Throughout the course of the event SNC continued to stumble over words resulting in him acting and being seen as the candidate in charge. Resulting in the fire team becoming confused and began moving forward without him . When points of friction arose SNC had little or no input into the solution as he was unable to probe, analyze, and direct corrective actions which caused him to lose control

Candidate Robbins provided a shoddy brief. It was evident he was trying to show a sense of urgency however, he ended up sacrificing essential detail and rushing though paragraphs. Additionally, SNC’s delivery was choppy containing several pauses due to him flipping back and forth through his notes. SNC’s mission was roughly put together and contained two tasks with no purpose (the second task was actually supposed to be the purpose; SNC just worded it poorly and called it an additional mission) and was stated only once. SNC’s scheme of maneuver was weak at best saying the team would “On order, maneuver in a wedge and close with the enemy and destroy them through fire and maneuver.”…
