Other people in their community. As long as those people are friended. There is a setting called “Ghost Mode”, this lets your “bitmoji”, as they're called, show up on the map. Sometimes the bitmoji is called the actimoji. The reason that they are called this is that sometimes it shows the action that you are doing when the application is opened. For instance, when the map feature was first introduced, I didn’t know about ghost mode. As a user of the app, I know that Snapchat sends you a message about new features, but the map, I didn’t get notified. Let alone that I didn't know about the feature, I didn't know how to turn ghost mode
