Tony, I too found it interesting to understand where my own organization stands in comparison to the competitors. I was very proud to see Smyth County Community Hospital (SCCH) as the only overall 4-star rated hospital out of the three chosen. Reviewing SCCH areas of need of improvement were also surprising to me. Having this data available to the public is a great tool for the consumer to utilize when choosing a hospital for their medical needs. It also serves as a facility tool for performance improvement, highlighting facility strengths and weaknesses which may need improvement.
