Smoking is bad for human health and virtually everyone knows about this fact, but the most smokers are not even bothered about this. Smoking is a habit by choice; no one is being forced to smoke. The entire communities and public has been educated on the hazardous risk of smoking to the health, so everyone who chooses to smoke is well informed and educated on the possible outcome of their habit. People still get addicted to cigarettes in spite of them knowing the effects of smoking, and the tobacco companies are not to be held responsible for this addiction. There marketing is just a suggestion and not a forceful act, the person who had to make a conscious decision to purchase a cigarette and use it constantly despite knowing the effect should …show more content…
Smoking constantly as an habit is like walking into the store buy a pistol, and shooting yourself multiple times even though u know u can die from such actions but still make to choice to do it. Smoking cigarettes is like making an attempt of killing oneself slowly or in the long run. Tobacco companies should not be held liable for the smoking related illness and death because they put the warning label on their products to tell the consumers the effects of taking their products but still people take it regardless. Most alcohol beverages do not have warning label on their products and no one is holding them liable for the illnesses and death caused by taking their products and why then should it be different for tobacco companies. Also, tobacco has excited longer than televisions. It has also been a cash crop since the early 1900’s and those individuals who first smoked knew nothing about its risky effects to the human health. However, in our modern society several warnings has been given and several commercials has been shown to prove how harmful it can be to one’s health. Tobacco companies should not be held liable for smoking related illnesses and deaths, because people made the decision to smoke, so the responsibility is their own. Birth control pills are used to prevent pregnancies but the pills are damaging the body while preventing you from getting pregnant. These are voluntary factors individuals make and could be prevented but they were actions made by choice and not by force so if one decided to smoke they should take responsibility for their actions knowing the full effects of what they are
