Smoking is very dangerous to an individual’s life. Smokers’ population is increasing immensely in day to day life. Not only adults but also underage children also started smoking in today 's world. Cigarettes contain toxins and chemicals which are poisonous to humans’ body. Smoking is a silent killer which can kill an individual slow and steadily by giving more agony before their death. Their fantasy of smoking will lead to destruction of health and their lives. Smokers can never become happy and cannot give happiness to their families and others. Lung cancer is one of the major effects of smoking. There are millions of people in the world who died because of lung cancer. Retention of smoke in lungs leads to inhalation and exhalation problems. It also causes respiratory infection which ultimately results in breathing problems and pneumonia. In females, breast cancer and cervical cancer are the common issues caused by smoking. During pregnancy, risk increases to the new born as well as the mother. “A pregnant smoker is at higher risk of having her baby born early and with an abnormally low birth weight. A woman who smokes during or after pregnancy increases her infant’s risk of death from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS)” (“Harms of Smoking and Health Benefits of Smoking”). Therefore, smoking mothers develop diseases for their own children. Blood cancer is the other type of cancer caused by smoking. Chemicals that are present in smoke may resist immune system to destroy cancer cells. It damage DNA cells which gives rise to cancerous cell tumor. Cigarettes containing nicotine which is an addictive ingredient of it may cause heart attacks, stroke, and angina pectoris. Therefore, it narrows the blood vessels of heart which leads to blockage that creates difficulty in the flow of blood through vessels.
