It is often compared to being as addictive as heroin. Why are cigarettes considered a legal drug, but heroin is not? Both of these drugs cause major harm to the body, but in different ways. Heroin can cause insomnia, liver and kidney disease, mental disorders, etc. Is that any different than cigarettes causing gum disease, cancer, heart attacks, strokes, etc? Both of these drugs have major health consequences, but why is one considered a legal drug but not the other.
