If you’re a car lover then be prepared to touch yourself. The company Trans Am Depot has created the new “Bandit Edition” of the nostalgic Firebird Trans Am with a kicker. All the cars are signed by “Smokey and the Bandit” star Burt Reynolds, the man who put the Trans Am on the map.

Only 77 of these will ever be made. Why 77? Because that’s the year ‘Smokey and the Bandit’ came out that’s why. The Trans Am is a cherished part of American auto culture that owned the road in the 70’s.

“To see Smokey and the Bandit is like remembering your first kiss. You always remember where you saw the movie and who you were with”

As part of my second paper assignment of recreating the image I analyzed in Paper One, I decided to venture down to Deep Ellum with a few friends. Not only did we stop at Braindead Brewing for a quick bite to eat, but we also explored the streets. The area is so fascinating and reminds me much of downtown Kansas City. The tiny streets juxtaposed with the bustling city and the old, rustic brick buildings makes me feel as though this area is best fit for recreating Jacob Riis’ “Bandit’s Roost.” One of the main points that I concluded and took from “Bandit’s Roost” was that Riis was attempting to evoke a scene similar to the entrance of Hell.…

I selected the Great American Smokeout press release because ACS is an organization that I support—in remembrance of a loved ones whom I’ve lost to the dreaded disease; to celebrate for those who’ve conquered the disease and to honor survivors like my mother. I’ve been a volunteer for ACS for some years, so helping those who want to quit has always appealed to me. Quitting smoking is obviously a health issue, both physically and psychologically. Furthermore, it's hard to do. Offering support to those who want to quit, even if it’s for a day, has the power to change lives.…

“The Lottery,” by Shirley Jackson and “The Most Dangerous Game,” by Richard Connell are both suspenseful and horror-based fictional short stories. “The Lottery” gives the reader a chill when one of the main characters is brutually stoned. However, “The Most Dangerous Game” will send shivers up the reader’s spine when the hunter gets captured by the game- human vs. human. The eloquent style and visually precise depictions in “The Most Dangerous Game” makes it the most enthralling. Both books have four main characters that interact in seemingly similar ways.…
