While there, we went on a 4-mile hike and also canoed across the lake. While on our hike, I ended up sharing my Bladder Exstrophy story with these girls and how I am actually grateful to have Bladder Exstrophy because of the countless blessings I have received from my many trials. Now, fast forward a couple years, one of those girls in that group came up to me at school and shouted, "KYLEE! I KNOW A LITTLE GIRL THAT IS GOING TO HAVE THE SAME SURGERY AS YOU!" I was so excited to find out there is a little girl who lives 7 minutes from my house that was just about to have the mitrofanoff surgery at the same hospital I currently go to! I have since gotten to know this little 7-year-old girl, Zoey, and have been able to provide hope and comfort to her family throughout the whole process. Zoey is home-schooled and does not have many friends. Kids made fun of her for wearing pull-ups in public school. From this experience, she and I have become best friends. I was able to visit her in the hospital and we even made a bucket list of what she wants to do with her new mitrofanoff. She will also be a future camper at our rally!
