The University of London’s study resulted that the Kurt Cobain hit is the most popular song in music’s history. According to Music Times, the greatest track described the “grunge movement of the 90s” and topped the top 50 songs gathered by a team of Goldsmiths, led by Dr. Mick Grierson.
The SPIN added that the computer scientist, who’s also a musician, thoroughly scan the songs featured in the “seven all-time best” lists made by Rolling Stone, NME, VH1 and the likes. The melodies underwent “analytical software to compare their key, BPM, chord variety, lyrical …show more content…
“By the same token, the sounds these songs use and the way they are combined is highly unique in each case.”
NME cited other songs which was included in the top 50 list. “Imagine” by John Lennon landed on the second spot, while “One” of U2 came in third. “Billie Jean” by Michael Jackson is on number four and Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” completed the top five.
Other tunes that made it on the rank are Guns N’ Roses’ “Sweet Child Of Mine,” Oasis’ “Live Forever” and the two of the breakthrough hits of Radiohead’s “Creep” and “My Generation” of The Who.
Meanwhile, NME also noted that the late Nirvana’s front man’s cover song of the Beatles’ “And I Love Her” is set to be released on vinyl. The father of Frances Cobain’s revival was first seen in a documentary “Montage of Heck” made by Brett Morgen earlier this year.
The “Montage of Heck” will also be out in an album with the same title in November, as well as its DVD. The vinyl 7” featuring Kurt’s solo song, “Sappy,” will be released on the 20th of the same
