In today’s modern world, technology plays a major role in our everyday life. Technology is omnipresent in our daily activities. With the expansion of the use of technology, many obstacles regarding time and space were overcome. Technology comes in all forms and shapes. It has evolved from restricted to one place because it was impossible for it to be moved to something that can be transported on the body without any willing or additional effort. The latter is known as wearable technology. From smartwatches to implantables, wearable technology is becoming more and more popular.

Nowadays smartwatches can run mobile applications. It is like having a small smartphone attached to the wrist. Smartwatches have been around for a while now with the first one being released in 1972 called Pulsar, manufactured by Hamilton Watch Company (2). At this present moment, smartwatches are in boom everywhere. This is because they provide a variety of advantages that aid in everyday routine of the user’s life. It also in a certain way benefit to the society.

Being a smartwatch, the Pebble smartwatch is not indifferent to the inestimable amount of benefits it provides to the users and at the same time to the society.

The Pebble Steel Watch is so great because it can sync with smart phones. It is compatible to mobile platforms running on Android OS 4.1 and up and iOS 6 and up. They notify the users about any incoming phone calls, missed calls, text messages, emails and calendar reminders. For users of smartwatches, notifications are one of the main reason to have a smartwatch. The effortlessness of having notifications sent to the wrist without the need to remove the phone from the bags or pockets make having a smartwatch unique. It can last up to 7 days. So the power consumption of the watch is very low. This is because the watch does not run too much applications at the same time. The maximum number it can run is 8 at the same time. Also, the only colors the screen display is black and white using the electrophoretic technology. This technology allows the black and white colors to display on the screen without consuming power but only when something is changed in the display. Hence the battery needs not to be charged regularly. This decreases the power consumption by the user needed to charge the watch. Charging gadgets regularly have harmful impact on the environment.
