It has been said that “Life is what happens when your cell phone is charging”. In the modern world cell phones have a notable impact on the lives of people everywhere. Cell phones, specifically smartphones, are versatile devices that are useful in many aspects of one’s daily life. A smartphone can be used for navigation, communication, and entertainment. However, too many people are only aware of the positives that have been provided by technological advances which make smartphones such convenient devices and are oblivious to the negatives that coincide. Although smartphones are generally perceived as beneficial devices, the fact of the matter is that they are actually poor investments. They lead to dependence, negatively affect one’s social life, and are life-threatening if misused.
