Smartphone: To Be, Or Not To Be? Is now year 2016, almost all people have a smartphones. Now we use them not only for calling, but as a calculator, a calendar, a clock, a camera, a play console, for internet access etc. Phone manufacturers from month to month invent perfect telephone equipment. Smartphones have more and more functions. Will there still be smartphones in 2050? How will they look like? How will people use them? Can be smartphones be replaced? Are cellphones changing us? I remember the production of the first smartphone; I remember the development and its effect on people. Now everybody is staring in 6” touchscreen. Kids, teenagers, adults – everyone has their own smartphone and gadgets to it: covers, headphones, holsters, armband covers etc. On the train, on the bus, in the doctor waiting room, in the park, at home, at restaurant, at school and at work during the break – all the time we use the smartphones. As a consequence we don’t talk to each other, we don’t look at each other; however; we have a smartphones. Our thumbs move the web-pages, even more; our fingers quickly write out a sms, our eyes only see the colorful world of android, or Apple iOS. It is a present reality; it is prevalent, but what will be the future of smartphones? Instead to write a sms we should start talking, otherwise people will forget language and in consequence disappear speech engine. Our messages are very simple and very short, because we must write fast, and understandable. The language in which we write becomes increasingly poor; furthermore we use symbols and emoticons instead of words. Following further smartphones are embedded vocabulary which is what causes us to forget spelling and grammar. For all these reasons we become illiterate secondary. I hope that finally we come to our senses. But this not all, we spent a lot of time with our smartphones in hand. Waste of time is the third effect of using the cellphones without repentance. Having all the time internet access in our devices to surf the web. During our free time we are look at our touchscreen phones instead of spending time with family and friends. Smartphones are our time wasters, because web browsing absorbs our time. Color pages attract us, and we blindly move to the next web page. We spend a lot of time playing games on our phones.
