The first benefit of the iPhone is that it’s user friendly, and consistent amongst each update. Second, app exclusivity is high with iPhones. Although Samsungs Androids have apps themselves, there is a portion of apps that are exclusive to the iPhone and unavailable for Android users. Third, Apple allows integration throughout all of their devices which is unique to Apple. The iPhone, iPad, MacBook, and Apple Watch all work with one another which is a selling point for students and professionals who need their work on hand at all times. Fourth, iPhones are consistently upgrading their operating systems to make sure everything is working to it’s full capacity. And the final reason, Apple has its own independent stores that are easily located unlike Samsung. Within these stores is the Genius Bar which is Apples repair team. So in turn, iPhones consumers don’t have to wait on the phone to try to resolve a problem and can walk right in to speak to someone directly that is present to see their phones and examine possible issues. Each new iPhone model has its own press meeting that is broadcast throughout the nation and is built up for weeks. Apple makes this event significant by not releasing any details of the new iPhone until the press meeting itself, there will be buzz generated prior to the meeting due to “rumors” about the updates. Immediately after the press meeting itself Apple showcases the date of the new iPhone release, allows pre-orders, and releases ads. Another big promotion piece for the iPhone and Apple is the actual Apple locations themselves. Within these stores each phone is showcased in each color and size. This tactic is effective because consumers trust that the iPhone is well built and trustworthy due to the fact that they have the ability to go in and use it to see how it functions and works prior to committing. Product features are another marketing tactic Apple uses with its iPhones. IPhones offer multiple things that other phones don’t have which sets them apart and they advertise according to these things. For instance, iPhones are the first phones to remove their headphone jacks or have pressure sensing

One article points out that “a key part of Apple’s approach to products is that it deliberately creates devices that will appeal to the broadest possible market. However, many people don’t seem to understand that Apple doesn’t chase niche markets. All they know is that someone else in the industry has a phone with a feature that Apple doesn’t include” (Moltz).
