Hi everyone,
I feel that the smarter measure is a very helpful test that displays your weak areas, as well as, the areas what you are strong in. The two amenities that I plan to use are the online writing center and the Shapiro library. With that in mind, I believe these two areas of amenities are connected to the smarter measure. Although my writing score was 56%, I need a little more practice in reading and writing long research. In order to succeed I intend to implement the amenities, I chose daily. I will dedicate 3 days out of the week to my reading and writing. By doing so, I will achieve my goal strengthen those skills. In my downtime, whether on the job or at home, I will focus more on succeeding in this area.

On November 1, 2016, you were assigned a project to make minor revisions to Standard Procedure 001:48:1, Disposition of Authority Property. Following the assignment of the project, you were instructed by me to: • Correct language errors, if any, in the published document On November 18, 2016, you submitted a draft procedure to me with the language error corrections you were recommending. The approximately 15 one-word recommendations you made included the following errors: • “Maintains an inventory of stored furnitures for use in Central Office (CO) locations.” • Coordinates the transfer and disposal of office furnitures at CO locations only. (In both cases above, you added an “s” to furniture even though the word furniture is an uncountable noun.)…

After two reported sexual assault safety alerts, attempted unauthorized entry in college apartments, river and house flooding and the unthinkable death of Bjorn Norderhaug, we are a community that has suffered through a lot of tragedies. We are a community that is still grieving and for some still in shock from such events. It can be hard to continue on with our lives when we are aware of such loses. It’s as if with a drop of a hat we can become sad when we think about what the Luther College and Decorah community has gone through in such a short time period, and I want to say if no one has already, that it is okay to be sad.…

The model that I chose is sexual orientation refers to an enduring patter of attraction behavior emotion identity and social contacts (APA2015). I chose this model because this is something I hold very close and deep in my heart. In the model it was talking about how homosexuality is a negative stereotype and it’s identifying this with our life styles. As I want to become a Bored Certified Applied Behavior Analysis I feel that this model is relevant to my development because my husband and I are huge advocates in the LGBTQ community.…

I believe that the Wonderlic was the best intelligence test in accurately reflecting my cognitive skills because it had better psychometric properties involved, such as a larger adult standardized sample, excellent test-retest reliability, and it best agreed with my two external criterion measures compared to the Shipley-2. I also believe that because I am an older college student, the Wonderlic did a better job of compensating for my age related decline in cognitive processing speed by providing additional points to my score. By completing these intelligence tests, I have gained a greater appreciation for how difficult the creation and administration of these tests can be. More importantly, these test allowed me to see where my strengths and weaknesses are when it comes to my cognitive…

Overall, throughout this year in 2017 of 9th grade English I’ve undeniably enhanced my personal writing. Some of the reasons I’ve achieved this specific goal are consistently working on Achieve3000, meeting at my expectations for typing essays and reports, and also gaining knowledge from commentary of my assignments in class. At first, the articles I complete in Achieve3000 has thoroughly created my vocabulary and had developed my understanding for each topic of that article. Secondly, I’ve learned that my expectations for a solid essay were required to first obtain a fine thesis statement, secondly a claim that’s comparative, thirdly citing evidence that supports my claim, fourthly explain the evidence and lastly have a great conclusion.…

I scored highest in the reading/writing section in the VARK questionnaire, which most definitely makes sense. When studying for tests and exams I always create my own separate study guide just so I can see the information in my own format. When memorizing spelling and vocabulary words when I was younger I would continuously write the words and definitions over and over again until I finally understood what I was trying to learn. I’ve also always learned better when being assigned textbook pages or reading handouts, compared to getting up snd moving around the class. Currently I’m working on a career project for one of my high school classes and I have to write three pages about my future line of work.…

English is my native language and I am thankful for a great education where I learnt about the structure of the English language in terms of grammar and spelling in great detail. A very real struggle I have in writing is being able to organise my thoughts and structure my writing in a way that makes sense. I also struggle to write topic sentences for each paragraph, though the more academic writing I do, the more I am conscious of putting effort in. I have watched a number of YouTube videos which instruct on the purpose of introductions, how to write a thesis statement, the order of paragraphs and the purpose of topic sentences. Smartthinking.com has been a real asset is to me.…

The first skill that was used to engage my client was using an open ended question at the beginning of my interview. According to Hohman (2002), “open-ended questions are those that have a variety of possible answers and do not limit the client” (p.20) using this strategy allows the client to explore his own thoughts and it encourages the client to do most of the talking. I started my conversation with my client by asking a simple open question for example “how was his day going ?” later I saw myself asking deeper questions such as “You mention that your brother is an alcoholic, how is your relationship with your brother?” this allowed me to listen to my client story in his own words and to keep the interviewing flowing.…

In my paper “Running: The Preferred Exercise Method” I discussed about the importance of how running affects the overall body. My objective in writing this paper was to get my audience, America, to understand that many if not all diseases/complications can be prevented/cured by running. There are definitely factors that are involved that differs from each situation or person. With proper coaching and recommended equipment, running can change a person’s life in positive way. Throughout my drafts of my papers, I felt confident with the idea of how running is the best method among all exercises that will positively affect the body.…

Considering I have been a university student on and off for the last decade, I believe I have become complacent about my academic literacy skills. I earn good grades, in my opinion, and I often receive positive feedback on my academic writing style and my referencing. Whilst I have received some criticisms, it has never occurred to me to analyse my academic literacy skills and make a point of identifying my weaknesses and improving upon them. As my degree progresses, I increasingly need to be able to express myself confidently and clearly and I cannot do that sufficiently until I have refined my writing skills (Grellier & Goerke, 2014, p. 159). Using online proofreading tools was a useful way for me to identify the deficits in my writing style…
