Smarter Measure: A Graduation Analysis

The greatest deciding factor of an individual’s life is their journey through college; which can be a brutal process if not fully prepared. Whether it's someone graduating college and getting their selected degree and starting their lives soundly, or running into barriers that keep them from getting a degree and consequently ending their college career. Having first hand experience with letting barriers decide my future, I know the struggles of overcoming obstacles that seem impossible to overcome. The barriers that held me back were finances and procrastination and I am still learning how to truly handle and overcome these challenges on a daily basis. The first barrier that caused an array of issues has been my finances and all the costs that come along with college. When I graduated high school, I was not too aware of the financial situation my family was in and made a grave mistake nearly destroyed my college career. Through the SmarterMeasure assessment I learned that I'm primarily a solitary learner preferring to learn on my own instead getting help from outside sources. Sadly, my solidarity is the root cause of my procrastination, for when I cannot figure something out I become frustrated and leave whatever I was trying to accomplish only to come back later to finish what I started. If I just ignored my stubbornness and my pride of trying to learn without outside aid I could finish work, projects, etc. in a timely manner avoiding the unnecessary stress procrastination creates. With this in mind, I have to train myself to ask questions and not be afraid of outside sources that can further my success in my studies, yet I have to always police my old habits, stubbornness, and pride and not allow them to
