Smart phones are a big part of today 's society. They have taken up our time, yet made time faster. It has gone from a phone as big as some of our computers today, to as fast as light and become a thin piece of glass and aluminum. We have become our smart phones. With time smart phones will evolve even more, become more complex, and take more of our precious time, but are we getting too into our smart phones? Smart phones are making us more alone because we have reduced intimacy in our relationships, we isolate ourselves, and our disability to face social problems. Our relationships with others are now made up of looking at a smart phone screen rather than the ones we love. We want to be more with our families and our loved ones yet when we are with them, we drag our attention to be with our smart phones and with other people that are not physically there. Reducing our intimacy is sadly taking away precious attention from our loved ones to a piece of technology. A leading psychologist says:
“We text during dinner with our families. We text as we drive. We text when we are with our children in the playground. Children say they try to make eye contact with their parents and are frustrated because their parents are looking down at their smart phones when they come out of school or after school activities” (Price, Michael).

This is how we reduce the intimacy in out relationships. We are too distracted to be with one another. We rather be on our phones at dinner, while…
