I chose to make eating more vegetables my goal because I have a difficult time doing so without some sort of motivation. I do like vegetables; I don’t avoid them if they are in something or on something but since getting to college it has become more of a choice. That choice is dictated by how much many I want to spend as well as what is available in the school cafeteria. Much of the vegetables at school are either undercooked or overcooked and the lettuce for package salads it not very good in my opinion. I am happy that I reached my goal, even with a couple of bumps in the road. There were no true barriers to this goal, only my own lack of motivation and dislike of the grocery store. I wish I had put more thought into this goal, planned out meals and learned how best to continue this goal outside of the two weeks. But that will be my new goal, learning how eating healthy should look for me. Finding out if that is frozen vegetables throughout the week or going to the grocery more frequently for small amounts of fresh foods. These past two weeks of taking a step toward a healthy life have shown me that food matters. I think many people do not really think about what they are putting into their body. This has helped me see that food can make you feel better or worse with simple changes.
