The source of this stress is primarily from school. As an early college student, I’ve found it difficult to adjust to certain aspects of college classes. Because of this it exacerbates my nail biting which I’ve always used to cope with stress. Coping is defined as ways we deal with stressors in life (Grison, Heatherton, and Gazzaniga 408). If I am to make progress towards my SMART Goal I believe I’d have to work on it during summer or winter breaks. Primarily since I wouldn’t have the stress of school distracting me from my goal and I’d have more time and energy to focus on it. I would probably go back to something like my spreadsheet but keep it in a journal to talk about my progress or lack of progress that day.
