Culpeper, a county that embraces diversity, is the poster for a small town. If this sounds like a boring place to live, an in depth look may be needed. This is very true of Culpeper. There are countless local businesses that help this town thrive. These businesses are typically unique and cater to a variety of interests. For example, Culpeper has had three three hobby stores. Culpeper Comics and Gaming, The Shop, and Geek Life all have a central focus on comics, card games, or tabletop roleplaying games. This is a godsend for many citizens in Culpeper. A more typical type of business in Culpeper are it’s restaurants. This county has several restaurants specialized for food such as Chinese, Thai, Italian, Japanese, Greek, Mexican, and classic American. This caters to all of the different tastes of those living and visiting Culpeper. Another successful store that has opened in Culpeper is the Lollipop Station. The Lollipop Station is a bright, welcoming toy store that focuses on toys, games, and candy. This is a very sharp contrast to simply buying a toy at an average grocery store. The Lollipop Station also helps engage and promote intellectual growth with the children in Culpeper. If a teen chooses to turn to these things, it’s not because they have nothing to do or don’t know any better. In the county of Culpeper, there are plenty of things for teenagers to do. The middle and high schools offer several after school activities including sports (both competitive and intramural) and clubs such as FFA and Younglife. Band, choir, and theatre programs in the school are constantly planning performances for students to be involved in.Outside of school, there are groups supported by hobby shops and the library that participate in live action role playing, Dungeon and Dragons, and other alternative interests like astrology or robotics. Culpeper has a movie theatre, skating rink, skate park, park, and the already mentioned library where teenagers could spend their time. All of these reasons support why there are things for the youth
