Although, I was prepared my role play did not go as I expected. I am currently enrolled in Methods of Social Work and this was my first interview so I was very nervous. I must not doubt myself. I need to ask more open ended questions and be prepared to interact with clients when they speak. I am going to watch more group intervention role play videos to get more of an idea where I fall into this group as a leader.
One skill I would further like to develop is my public speaking. I realize that participation is an integral part of this degree problem because as a social worker you are expected to be able to be a facilitator and advocate for clients. I was very nervous to do role play. I even stumbled upon my words and I am not a shy person.
I was really surprised by how open and honest classmates were. They were very cooperative and did not make the role play difficult for me. I think that as I get used to being around this group of people doing role play will be more comfortable to me. I recognize that role play is important not only in social worker but my past
