With a multi-purpose program focusing on reading, writing, and math improvement, students can use small group learning with a student to teacher ratio of less than 11:1. Incorporating the local university?s graduate students and education majors along with encouraging volunteers from the school and community to be involved as mentors, training cost would be limited to faculty of 40. Daily expenditures and program materials are costs that are taken into consideration and are subject to change due to predictions made at estimated daily cost. (See Table 2). By incorporating the website media to inform parents and community members of needed involvement, volunteers could be provided and there would be no cost for advertising or public relations.…

The 4-hour block group lesson presentation went ok. I believe that the message was received, even though few things didn’t go the way I wanted them to go. The strengths of the lesson were probably when everyone understood how the program works and its pros and cons. Instead the areas that needed improvement were, the icebreaker, it wasn’t supposed to be assigned a letter, but anyone had to keep going with the alphabet being careful to not repeat the letter, but my partner forgot about it. Then, the grammar wall, maybe needed to be easier, less words and still sending the same message.…

Most health care organizations may use a combination of different training methods in implementing an information system, such as the computerized physician order entry (CPOE). One of the most popular methods, according to Nicklaus, Kusser, Zessin, and Amaya (2015), is an instructor-led class in a classroom that contains all of the equipment needed to demonstrated essential functionalities, including printers, bar code scanners, identification bands, and medication labels to mention a few. The advantages of instructor-led training are the ability for end-users to ask questions, quick clarification of complex concepts, and easy identification of users who may need additional help. The primary disadvantages are the expense and resources needed…

Instructional Leadership course provided a great way not only to learn new concepts but also to reflect on my leadership practices and make important steps toward some changes. There are three words that come to my mind when I think about this course: curriculum, assessment and PLC. The concepts behind these words are closely connected to all elements of Standards 2 that were covered in this course. The first element is element 2B, Curriculum and Instruction, became the most inspiring element for me because it allowed me to see how to better analyze and work with data, as well as how to monitor the alignment of curriculum instruction, assessment and professional practice.…

Context: Instructional Setting: 1. Instructional Setting: This December I was tasked to produce a class to teach collaborative teaching to my instructional team at the Basic Intelligence Analyst Course here at Fort Huachuca. The reason for this tasking was that our instructors are not teachers and have had no real instruction on how to teach as a team. This class was not actually presented as circumstances and reorganization took place in December but the author still wanted to continue to prepare this class as it is still needed and there now is time with the reorganization completed.…

The ten given tips mentioned in the video all seemed to be very effective ones to implement in the classroom if done correctly. Classroom management is crucial, and can definitely make a difference in-between a well ran room and a chaotic classroom. The first tip mentioned was beginning the year tough. I definitely believe teachers have to set the stage of what is expected and stand their ground to instill the procedures and expectations into the students, but this should also not be taken to extreme measures where students are uncomfortable or scared to be in the class. Also, it’s easier for the teacher to set certain procedures such as bathroom signals, attention grabbers, or classroom rules at the beginning of the year so the students know…

In small groups there is a focus on “thinking” instead of just “getting an answer” (Cooke & Adams, 1998). “If student’s have to defend their solution to others in small groups…they will develop a better understanding of the mathematics and more confidence in their own ability to solve difficult problems” (1998). Part of the skill students are developing is their ability to convince another student that their ideas are valid (1998). Modeling and showing students what they should look and sound like when working in small groups is important. To help them with focusing, let students know what they should be saying when they are talking in their group, “I should hear words like equal, not equal.”…
